ASHLAND, Ore.- The city’s budget sub-committee met Wednesday night to hear from the applicants for the Economic Development, Cultural, Tourism, and Sustainability grant.
The 33 organizations who applied for the grant will discuss why earning the funds will be beneficial for them.
It is a competitive process, therefore not every applicant will receive funding.
“To be able to highlight organizations like Scienceworks, or A.I..F.F., or Mt. Ashland, or the Art Center, to really make sure that those organizations that are doing a great job get funding,” said Chip Lindsey, the Executive Director of ScienceWorks.
On Thursday night, the committee will meet to allocate which organizations will be rewarded grant money and the amount they will get.
Then in June, the Mayor and city council will make the final decision on adopting the budget and where those funds will go.
